MECH

MECH is a solo tabletop roleplaying game where you take on the role of the only available MECH pilot in a city under threat of a Dormant, a monstrous kaiju or other gargantuan force of destruction. There are many cities to defend, different Dormants to deter, myriad reasons they’ve awoken, and MECHs equipped to put up a fight in hangars across the world. But as one of the few left who can pilot a MECH, you’ll likely lose more than a few in your duty to prevent cities from being destroyed. Nonetheless, you’ve sworn to protect what’s left of humanity, so you’ll use every last one if you have to.

Humanity is paying for its past hubris, but you are the only line of defense, so it’s time to...

Based on the incredible RUNE by GilaRPGs and using the Carved by RUNE license, MECH is a solo tabletop hack of RUNE and REAP that takes those souls-like games into the near future where humanity has finally pushed our planet past the breaking point and the planet begins fighting back. Awakening from untold eras of sleep, the Dormant are kaiju-like monsters of elemental wrath (or worse) that can only be stopped by the MECHs still at humanity's disposal. The chances of ever defeating one for good are effectively zero, so not only will you fight the minions and Dormants that come to lay waste to the Cities we have left, you'll try and discover the Promises that were broken to these entities and restore them, binding these Promises into yourself and MECH alike, empowering you for future face-offs.

If you're familiar with the system, it's a pretty straightforward reskin, but I hope that you enjoy it and let me know what you think! I consider this an ashcan with the intent to go back and improve design, get more original art from my co-designer Matt Raso, and I definitely have a LOT more ideas for Cities and Dormants to unleash upon the world, so stay tuned, I'm going to try and release a new City every few months or so.
